Ingredients

1 piece (7" long)Baguette or French roll
1/4 cupHoagie relish (recipe follows)
2 leavesRed leaf lettuce
2 ozThinly sliced roast beef
2 ozMortadella, sliced
2 ozGenoa salami, sliced
1-1/2 ozProvolone cheese, thinly sliced
1-1/2 ozSwiss cheese, sliced
2 ozBay Valley® Brand Kosher Dill Lengthwise Strips
Hoagie Relish:
1/3 cupRed pepper, finely chopped
1/4 cupBlack olives, finely chopped
3 tbspParsley, fresh, chopped
1/2 tspBasil, fresh, chopped
1/2 tspOregano, dried
1/4 cupOlive oil

Procedure

Hoagie Relish:

  1. Combine all ingredients. Mix well.

Sandwich Recipe:

  1. Cut baguette or French roll in half lengthwise.
  2. Spread the Hoagie Relish (see above recipe) on the bottom slice.
  3. Layer on lettuce, roast beef, mortadella, salami, provolone, and Swiss. Top with pickle slices.
  4. Carefully place top of bread on filling; press down gently.

Sandwich Yield: 1 Serving
Relish Yield: 3 Servings

Chef's Tip:

This sandwich will improve in flavor if left to stand for a short while.
